Meet Dr. Seth Bynum

Dr. Seth Bynum is an accomplished veterinarian, writer and photographer as well as an avid outdoorsman. He was born and raised in North Carolina, but his passions brought him West, where he has called home for more than 20 years. He and his family now reside in the panhandle of Idaho. His veterinary practice is currently limited to canine reproduction, although he loves tackling sporting dog and internal medicine cases at his home base of Hayden Pet Medical Center.
A devout follower of the “Work to Live” philosophy, Dr. Bynum keeps his clinic schedule as lean as possible to pursue his passion for bird dogs and upland hunting. He can be found afield with a fly rod or shotgun, accompanied by his crew of German shorthaired pointers and lugging around a camera. Each spring you'll find him leaving the house well before dawn for the chance to fool a gobbler.
His writing and photography span a variety of topics from veterinary medicine to hunting strategies and lifestyle. His work has been published on MeatEater.com, in Gun Dog and Covey Rise magazines as well as conservation journals for the Ruffed Grouse Society, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever. Dr. Bynum has appeared on numerous upland and sporting dog podcasts and has been a frequent guest speaker at national events on the topics of canine nutrition, first aid and reproduction.
